Breakfast Meeting: Recycled Concrete Aggregates in Concrete

"Recycled Concrete Aggregates in Concrete" was presented by Karthik Obla, Ph.D., P.E., FACI (NRMCA) to 95 attendees.

The presentation addressed ACI and ASTM standard requirements related to the use of recycled concrete aggregates (RCA) in concrete. It also addressed the performance of concrete when RCA is used. It will addressed the measures that need to be adopted for the effective use of RCA. Results of the NRMCA research on the reuse of crushed returned concrete as aggregates were shown. The new ASTM standard (ASTM C1798) specification for returned fresh concrete for use in a new batch of ready-mixed concrete was also discusseded.
