EVENTS
In addition to numerous continuing education programs, MCC hosts two scholarship fundraisers each year – a golf outing in August and a sporting clays event in September. When opportunities arise, MCC also sponsors tours of different projects or manufacturing facilities related to cast-in-place concrete. MCC will also occasionally host other networking events throughout the year.
Please see the calendar for all upcoming continuing education programs and events. For questions about events, please contact MCC’s Administrator, Priscilla Conway .

WEBINAR: DESIGN FOR RESILIENCE AND SUSTAINABILITY
Learn more437 WEBINAR: DESIGN FOR RESILIENCE AND SUSTAINABILITY 2023-04-12 12:00:00 2023-04-12 13:00:00 #f57921Resilient design of buildings in the twenty-first century is imperative given increased intensity and frequency of extreme adverse climatic events. Buildings must withstand environmental impacts to their exteriors while simultaneously protecting the occupants within and maintain operational functionality.
In this presentation we will discuss how to incorporate concrete construction systems as a sustainable building assembly option to meet the challenges of designing and building energy efficient and resilient structures that can withstand most, if not all natural disasters.
Architects, Engineers, General Contractors and Building Owners will gain a thorough understanding of concrete structural system benefits, including thermal envelope performance, design integration, construction processes, and renewable energy resources for consideration and implementation into overall building envelope design and construction.

In an entertaining fashion that is not only informative, but fun for the novice and expert alike, Peter and Scott bring to life several of those who shaped the laws and theories of science and forensics. Along with case studies, experts past and present address where moisture that leads to slab and flooring problems originates, how moisture moves and migrates, how moisture in and below a slab can cause problems, how moisture in a concrete floor slab should be tested, how to protect concrete slabs-on-ground from moisture, and what can be done to avoid, or correct a moisture-related flooring or coating problem.
