Board & Committees

Board Of Directors

MCC’s Officers, Directors, and Committee Chairs are unpaid volunteers. MCC contracts with an administrator to meet our association’s needs, keeping overhead costs minimal.

The Minnesota Concrete Council’s Board of Directors is made up of leaders from a wide variety of cast-in-place concrete-associated businesses who have joined forces to provide awareness about the superior properties and many uses of cast-in-place concrete. Our Board of Directors is an alliance of concrete professionals interested in promoting cast-in-place concrete and monthly board meetings provide a forum through which they can coordinate efforts.

Committees

Committee involvement is of fundamental importance in achieving the goals of MCC.

We encourage and welcome all members to actively participate and contribute their expertise in these necessary volunteer efforts. For information about how you can get involved with one of our committees please contact MCC’s Administrator, Priscilla Conway.

ACI Certification

Through ACI’s certification programs, individuals can demonstrate their knowledge for working with
concrete, as well as display more specific skills for advanced placing and testing techniques. Becoming
ACI certified is an investment in your profession, your education, and your success. Since many local,
national, and international building codes require ACI-certified personnel on the jobsite, your value
increases.

The Co-Chairs of the Certification Committee are Dave Morlock, PE (TCC Materials) and Lucas Kari (TCC
Materials). For information on how you can participate with the Certification Committee, contact Dave,
Lucas or MCC’s Administrator, Priscilla Conway.

Big Shoot

Held every September as a fundraiser for the MCC Scholarship Fund, the MCC Big Shoot Sporting Clays Event is rapidly becoming the premier scholarship fundraiser for MCC! The Big Shoot is a great forum for members and their guests to relax and enjoy great food, networking and an afternoon of sporting clays in a relaxed, casual atmosphere.

The MCC Big Shoot Committee is co-chaired by Dave Meyer (Continental Cement Company) and Mike Ward. For information on how you can get involved with this committee, please contact Dave, Mike or MCC’s Administrator, Priscilla Conway.

Build With Strength

Build With Strength is a coalition of the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association. Its mission is to educate the building and design communities and policymakers on the benefits of ready mixed concrete, and encourage its use as the building material of choice for low- to mid-rise structures. No other material can replicate concrete’s advantages in terms of strength, durability, safety and ease of use.

In mid-2018, the MCC Board of Directors approved the formation of a Build With Strength Committee within MCC. The purpose of the committee is to act as a bull-horn to advance the mission of the national Build With Strength campaign in Minnesota.

The Co-Chairs of the Build With Strength Committee are John Lee (Cemstone) and Chad Regnier (Concrete Inc.). For information on how you can participate in the Build with Strength Committee, please contact John, Chad, or MCC’s Administrator, Priscilla Conway.

Education

The primary goal of the MCC Education Committee is to provide well-rounded, interesting topics and speakers to attract a diverse group of participants to continuing education programs. The Minnesota Concrete Council is host to a variety of educational programs for our members and guests. Contractors, engineers, architects, designers, specifiers, materials suppliers, testing companies and owners are regular attendees at MCC continuing education programs.

The Co-Chairs of the Education Committee are Josh Edwards, PE (AVR, Inc. & Affiliates) and Dave Morlock, PE (TCC Materials). For information on how you can participate with the Education Committee, contact Josh, Dave, or MCC’s Administrator, Priscilla Conway.

Golf Outing

Held every August as a fundraiser for the MCC Scholarship Fund, the MCC Annual Golf Tournament is an extremely popular event that provides an excellent opportunity for members to entertain customers and guests and to interact and exchange ideas in a relaxed, casual atmosphere. The event is held at Mendakota Country Club in Mendota Heights.

The MCC Golf Committee is chaired by Mike Johnson of Cemstone Products Company and Tom Kelly of AVR, Inc. For information on how you can get involved with this committee, please contact Mike, Tom or MCC’s Administrator, Priscilla Conway.

Member Events

The MCC Member Events Committee is co-chaired by Megan Huberty (American Engineering Testing) and Sherry Malecha. The Member Events Committee is responsible for planning member events not related to the golf outing or the Big Shoot sporting clays event.

For information on how you can become part of the Member Events Committee, please contact Megan, Sherry or MCC’s Administrator, Priscilla Conway.

Member Engagement

The Member Engagement Committee has been tasked with increasing participation in MCC programs and events. The Member Engagement Committee hosts events focused around continuing education and networking.

The Chair of the Member Engagement Committee is Henry Pears (Magney Construction) and Co-Chair Ben Holbrook (Dunwoody College). For information on how you can become part of the Member Engagement Committee or how you can join MCC, please contact Priscilla Conway.

Membership
The purpose of MCC Membership is to help to maintain diversity and quality of education and networking and to continually assess what services our diverse membership values so that we can continue to change and adapt to fill those needs. MCC Members focus on major players in the marketplace who are not members in an effort to educate them about what MCC has to offer with a strategic view to strengthening our membership base.

For more information on how you can become part of the Membership of MCC, please contact MCC’s Administrator, Priscilla Conway, via our Contact page.
