St. Francis Wastewater Treatment

#

The City of St. Francis’s existing plant was built in the 1970s and upgraded in 2000 and was not equipped to address existing and future regulations regarding ammonia and phosphorus. It also needed to be expanded to provide additional capacity for the city’s growth.  The new 20 million dollar treatment facility will add to the existing wastewater treatment location, including a new lift station and new treatment components. The project also involves closing the facility’s discharge outfall to the Rum River and expanding its discharge to Seelye Brook.
