Annual Big Shoot Tournament Scholarship Fundraiser
The 9th Annual Sporting Clays Tournament and Scholarship Fundraiser will be held Thursday, September 28, 2017 at the Minnesota Horse & Hunt Club in Prior Lake.
MCC has been looking for more ways to include more of our members at the Big Shoot. Many people have commented over the years that they'd love to participate, but that they just don't have that much experience and don't feel comfortable shooting 100 clays. So this year, MCC has added a "Novice" track for that group. The novices will spend two hours receiving general gun safety training and hands on shotgun instruction from certified safety and gun instruction professionals before joining the experienced track for the social hour and hog roast dinner (and prizes). Gun rental and ammunition are included in the registration fee for the novice track. The novice track starts later in the afternoon than the experienced track. The cost for the novice track is $75 per person.
The "Experienced" track is intended for those people who have completed gun safety training on their own and who are comfortable with shooting a shotgun. This group of experienced participants will still have a broad-range of sporting clays experience and ability, but should overall be experienced with safely shooting a shotgun in a sporting clays setting. The cost for the experienced track is $150 per person. NEW THIS YEAR! Lunch is included with the registration fee for the experienced track.
Sponsorships are available. An event sponsorship is $250. By becoming an event sponsor, you are helping MCC support more students and apprentices. The event sponsorship includes a station sponsorship plus sponsorship of a raffle prize that will be used to raise even more money for scholarships. MCC provides the sign and purchases the prize on your behalf. A station sponsorship is $100. Station sponsors have a sign with their company name on it at a sporting clays station. (MCC provides the sign.)
The $1,000 raffle is back times two! This year MCC will be offering TWO $1,000 raffle prizes. Each raffle is limited to 100 chances. Each raffle ticket is $20. Special thanks goes out to American Engineering Testing, Braun Intertec, Cemstone and Continental Cement for sponsoring these raffles. Other raffle tickets will be available for $5 for other great prizes - like the prize donated by Advance Companies!
