MN Concrete Forum: Natural Pozzolans
With the closure of numerous coal-fired power plants in the U.S., causing a reduction of available fly ash for concrete, the use of other supplementary cementitious materials (SCM’s) are becoming more prevalent. 3M is mining a Natural Pozzolan in Wausau, WI for use in concrete. 3M’s Natural Pozzolan is a fine grade cement replacement that provides ASR mitigation and improved overall strength and durability.
John Edwards (3M Industrial Mineral Products Division) will provide a technical presentation on the use of the 3M Natural Pozzolan, NP-100W in slip-form paving and other ready mix applications in the Midwest.
The event will be held at Midland Hills Country Club in Roseville on April 26. Registration opens at 9:30 am. The presentation will begin at 10:00 am and conclude by 11:30 am. There is no cost to attend, but pre-registration is required because space is limited.
Attendees will be emailed a certificate of attendance for one professional development hour (PDH) at the conclusion of the event.
